Come off M6 at Junction 34
Take the A683 to Kirkby Lonsdale
Continue through -
Caton, a small town
Claughton, a hamlet
Just before the
village of Hornby
, turn RIGHT on the B6480 to Bentham
(approx 7 miles from motorway)
Continue through -
Wray, a village
Wennington, a hamlet where the road narrows to go between
two houses
1¼ miles beyond Wennington, the road passes underneath a bridge. 20 metres before the bridge on the left
hand side of the road, is a farm entrance, with a sign on the wall - ‘HOLMES FARM’
From the A65 – to the east of Bentham:
Proceed northwards on A65 from Skipton
Continue through -
Gargrave, a small town
Hellifield, a village
Long
Preston
, a village
Keep on A65 -
when you approach the town of
Settle
, which is bypassed, follow signs to Kendal
Approximately 6 miles from Settle, turn LEFT on the B6480
to Bentham
In 5miles, pass right through the villages of High Bentham
and Low Bentham
Coming out of Low Bentham,
you pass over the river twice within about 250 metres, then you pass “Sedbergh Junior School” and the Church, on your left, and then after another ½ mile the road
passes underneath a bridge. 20 metres
AFTER the bridge there is a farm entrance on the RIGHT with a sign on the wall -
‘HOLMES FARM’
From the M6 motorway - Travelling South:
Come off M6
at Junction 36
Take the A65 signed to Kirkby Lonsdale and Skipton (left
turn at roundabout at end of slip road and straight on at the next roundabout)
Kirkby Lonsdale is bypassed.

Just after passing Kirkby Lonsdale, the road travels downhill
until it crosses the River Lune. ¼
Mile after this:
Turn RIGHT on the A683 signed to
Lancaster
In approx 3.5miles you will reach the
village of
Melling
Turn LEFT in Melling – the only Left turn – at the what was the
Melling Hall Hotel – now closed!.
In 1¼ miles you will reach Wennington
Turn LEFT at the T junction in the centre of Wennington by the green on the B6480 signed to
Bentham
1¼ miles beyond Wennington, the road passes underneath a bridge. 20 metres before the bridge on the left hand side of the road,
